the art of doing one thing at a time

Issue #3

SLOWMAXING- the next big trend.

Hello Reader,

For years, we learned that multitasking was the key to being more efficient.

Somewhere along the way, doing more became a badge of honor.

It's no surprise so many women these days are completely dysregulated.

We are juggling so much. We raise the kids and run their schedules and social activities all while trying to keep up with our own. Many of us work full time while doing so. We care for our homes, answer texts (or not) and somehow squeeze in taking care of ourselves at the end of the day if we're lucky.

We learned how to multitask because we thought it made us more productive. We felt accomplished.

But years and years of doing so much, all at once, builds pressure, and WILL catch up with you.

Eventually, you reach a breaking point.

Maybe it's chronic pain.

Maybe it's a scary health diagnosis.

Maybe it's anxiety, burnout, brain fog, dissociation, or feeling detached from yourself.

For so many women, that breaking point seems to arrive right around perimenopause when our give a f*ck goes, bye bye:)

BUT the good news is "I think" we are on the verge of a revolution.

After decades of women trying to do it all, we've had enough. We're ready for something different.

Cue slowmaxxing.

Cue simplemaxxing.

(I'm truly so sorry to my fellow elder millennials for using those terms)

It's time to choose presence over productivity. Yes JUST for our own sanity. We can be selfish for once.

Today, I want you to try something that sounds almost too simple.

The next time you're making toast... just wait for it to be done. Yes- just stand there and stare at the wall. Or the toast.

Watch a movie without grabbing your phone. Better yet, leave your phone in another room.

Brush your teeth while standing in one place. GASP. I know.

Go for a walk without technology. Feel the earth beneath your feet. Listen to the birds. Watch the wind blow through the trees.

The art of doing one thing at a time will take practice.

We've spent years conditioning ourselves to rush, multitask, and constantly consume. Now we have to recondition ourselves for simplicity.

The next time you catch yourself multitasking, notice it.

Then tell yourself:

Cut that sh*t out.

Because your nervous system literally depends on it.

July 19, 2026 Sunday thoughts... Reader Yesterday I had one of those lazy days. The kind where your bed is literally your best friend. I knocked out a couple of errands in the morning, and the rest of the day was spent... rotting. Then guilt started to take over. Were my kids fed and fine? Yes. My son was with his dad, having fun with friends. My daughter was in her room, doing the same as me. She requires a lot of downtime, and I respect her unique biology and human design. But I started...
